Patterns and complete directions are given for making all the costumes and underwear as illustrated.
Initially these costumes will fit the 12” commercial Godey Lady Book Doll with a porcelain china head. However, we are including a pattern and transfer which can be used for making six beautiful Godey Lady Book stuffed dolls, 12” high.
Doll collectors will be pleased with these authentic costumes (circa 1860). Mrs. Cartright (A) Mrs. Cabot (B) Mrs. Carter (C) Miss Jennifer Boyles (D) Mrs. Enright (E) and Mrs. Eustis (F). All are pictured on the front of the envelope so you can easily identify which doll and gown you want to sew.
This pattern includes the stuffed dolls and clothing plus the working stamp transfers for the embroidery together with instructions. Easy Sewing Guide includes directions for sewing plus stamping transfer embroidering, making the wig, and assembling Doll and Clothing.

VIEW A DINNER DRESS (Mrs. Cartright) – 35” or 39” material, 5/8 yd. Contrast 27” fine net or tulle for ruffles, 3/4 yd. Fancy 1/2” braid for trimming, 1-3/4 yds.
VIEW B TEA GOWN (Mrs. Cabot) – Dress, 35” or 39” material, 5/8 yd. Guimpe, 35” or 44” material, 1/8 yd. Stole, 27” fine net or tulle, 1/8 yd. 1/4” lace edging for guimpe, 1/4 yd. 1-1/2” lace edging for stole, 1 yd. 1/4” ribbon for dress, 3/4 yd.
VIEW C WALKING DRESS (Mrs. Carter) – 35” or 39” material, 5/8 yd. Stole, 3” ribbon, 3/4 yd. 1/4” lace edging for dress, 5/8 yd. 1/2” lace edging for stole and rosettes, 4 yds.

NOTE – Views A to F – The fabrics most suitable for the dresses are taffeta, faille silk or satin.
View G – The coat and bonnet may be made of faille silk or fine thin wool.
